8/8/2017 Think About It - AvocadosThis week I wanted to touch on a "superfood" that seems to be dominating restaurant menus and social media alike. It comes in many forms, whether it's tucked into a sushi roll, diced beautifully on top of a salad, or mixed with onions and tomatoes into a delicious bowl of guacamole. It's also a staple on nearly every brunch menu I've seen lately, often smashed on toast with egg, bacon, or sausage placed on top. That's right — we're talking about avocados.
7/27/2017 Think About It - Jif Peanut ButterIf you’re also a peanut butter person, then you understand how delicious and addictive this nutty spread can be. I truly adore peanut butter and would happily subsist on nothing else – in fact, my life was headed in that direction until my parents banned me from it a while back. This sounds aggressive, but it turns out that they weren’t being entirely irrational when they did this. Peanut butter has some massive caveats.
7/26/2017 Think About It - Panera mac & CheeseAs far as vices go, Panera's Mac & Cheese is a permanent contender at the top of the list. This creamy, white cheddar-based dish is almost enough to convince me to renege on my dairy-free lifestyle (read: almost), and for those whose digestive system is more forgiving, it provides a heart-warming and soul-fulfilling meal. However, this comfort food comes at a price.
6/25/2017 Think About It - Chipotle Burrito BowlsThe Chipotle burrito bowl nears the top of the list for a college kid's most revered and worshipped meal. It's relatively affordable with its sub-$10 price tag, yet offers a seemingly endless array of combinations and ingredients that caters to vegetarians, vegans, pescatarians, carnivores, and everybody in between. Unfortunately, this versatility masks a high-fat, calorie-dense, and sodium-laden meal.
6/14/2017 Think About It - Panera BagelsIf you're like most people, a bagel is one of the most quintessential breakfast items on a busy day. Whether it's a quick in-and-out before your morning commute, an easy snack for your kids' cross country meet, or a lazy-day alternative to a full-size meal, these American staples are familiar to all and almost always within reach.
